And speaking, as we were, of reunions, our class reunion chairman Al Keiller has been named to the board of trustees of the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, the combination of Maty Hitchcock Hospital and the Hitchcock Clinic.
This fall John Rollins is starting his fourth year of teaching the entrepreneurship course at George Washington University's School of Business and continues to help start new businesses like Aztech Software, which he ran for 30 years. John's most recent venture is Stream- Center, where he is chairman of the company that provides Webcasts of professional education material to members of professional/trade organizations that are unable to attend their associations conference. John has enlisted Erv Burkholder as CFO of Stream Center.
Jim Makol is a pediatrician in Sacramento, where he spends most of his time in hospital administration with Kaiser Permanente. Harold Stoddard is a quality assurance inspector for the Social Security Administration, reviewing disability insurance cases. Judith works in an after-school program for 5-year- olds. Peter Lake now runs Lake Real Estate in Marblehead, Massachusetts
Skip Battle was credited in a recent article in the Oakland Tribune with saving Internet search engine company Ask Jeeves, where he is now executive chairman. It also reviewed his career and involvement with other East Bay technology companies, including People Soft, Barra and Fair Isaac, all of which he serves as a director.
Tim Urban and his Des Moines, lowabased company, Urban Development Corp., were selected as a regional finalist for a 2004 Ernst and Young Entrepreneurs of the Year Award. Tim's about to break ground on a $4O million mixed-use town center project called West Glen.
Tom Louis married Germaine Buck on June 19. Children, siblings and friends cheered on the couple, now living in Potomac, Maryland. On the other end of the spectrum Tripp and Jeannette Miller celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary with a two-week trip to Turkey. Jeannette's a medical research scientist at NYU and Tripp is a Business Week sales manager.
