CLASS OF 1950'S 45TH REUNION: June 13-15, 1994. We are convening with the classes of '48 and '49. One idea to think about is organizing individual fraternity reunions. Get-togethers could be scheduled at each of our houses.

A news clipping from the College indicates that Bill Sapers has been elected to the board of the Roxbury Community College Foundation, an organization that raises private funds for student scholarships. Bill has had an illustrious career in insurance, pensions, and estate planning, has been very active in local, state and national politics, and is involved in numerous civic organizations.

Among the travelers this spring are Marlene and Ed Tuck, who were in Tennessee last month. Also, Betsy Pinkham is scheduled for a cruise to South America and the Amazon River. Lawyer Bill Broadbentand Clare were in town for the February minireunion. His news was succinct: "Children have left town, dog still alive, retire in '94."

My freshman roomie Ben Shaver claims to be "still half-retired," and I don't think he means personality-wise. He and Joy do lots of sailing and related activities on the Chesapeake Bay. They see Al and VivianHarquail frequently.

Speaking of Ben, our class treasurer, please respond to his class dues notices if you haven't done so. Even if you're not interested in supporting the class, you are reading this magazine (and this deathless prose). You ought to cough up at least the $15 it costs the rest of us to send it to you.

Congrats and best wishes to Dick andBobbie Echikson, married last August. When last seen, Dick was also telling the world about his youngest son, Stephen, who was accepted early decision to the Dartmouth class of 1997.

Bob Wilkinson, our class head agent, is also looking for our support for the Alumni Fund. The goal for the class of '50 is $165,000. Last year we contributed $163,000 with a participation rate of 67 percent (vs. 59 percent for all the classes). If you haven't sent in your pledge or money, please do so. If you have, you might consider upping it a bit. On the subject of communication, I have a printout of addresses of all classmates. If you want an address for someone, just let me know.

The minister dropped by the other day. He said that at my age I ought to be thinking about the hereafter. I told him I do that all the time. No matter where I am in the living room, upstairs, in the garage, or down in the basement I askmyself, "Now what am I here after?"

Keep those cards and letters pouring in. (I did get one last month.)

That's it until the next issue, which comes out in August. Have a good end-of-spring and beginning-of-summer.
