Saigon Goes Green

WHO AMONG those who watched the fall of Saigon in 1975 would have imagined a Dartmouth Club there today? A group of Greeners recently held its seventh meeting and has applied for official recognition from the College. Founders Gary Orenstein '90 and Jeff Swiatek '90 get together the first Thursday of the month. The agenda? "Drinks at a downtown bar, followed by a trip around the corner to a local Vietnamese restaurant where I taught them to make steak sandwiches," Orenstein says.

Alumni in Vietnam can find Orenstein at the Century Saigon Hotel. The two officers have hopes to expand the club rapidly. It wouldn't take much to achieve significant growth; so far they're the only members.
