When the comics began insulting their own bosses—the directors of broadcasting—they used to be talking about James H.Rosenfield who, for 20 years until 1985, was executive vice president of the broadcast group at CBS, which included network television, entertainment, sports, radio, and everything else that went out the broadcast door. Whether this self-destructive humor got to him or not, Jim left CBS for Don Blair Communications, a company he acquired with other investors, and from there he became president of JHR Associates Company investing in multi-media communications and television production.
Now we have news that Veronis, Suhler, and Associates took Jim on as a managing director. The company is best described as investment bankers for media, principally broadcasting and filmed entertainment. Jim and his wife, Nancy, live in New York City. For the record, Nancy was the one who rescued Jim from the U.S. Army Signal Corp, where he was learning to speak Polish at the Monterey Language School during the Korean War, and got him through the rest of Dartmouth.
