My mailbox has seen a lot more snow than mail from my classmates reporting their accomplishments. In fact, we had so much snow that it reminded me of Freshmen Father's Weekend in 1961. If you remember, we had a monster snow storm on Saturday into Sunday, and it a was worried collection of 1964 fathers who assembled on Sunday morning in 105 Dartmouth for some words of advice from President Dickey. But the president told them to just give the Emmits a couple of hours and they would have smooth sailing until they reached southern Connecticut, but after that, good luck.

The mailbox was not totally empty, however. Marshall Ledger '61 sent me word that Gerry Kolski has been named chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at CrozerChester Medical Center in suburban Philadelphia. Gerry was formerly chairman of pediatrics and chief of the division of Allergy and Immunology at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, N.Y. After leaving Hanover, he earned a Ph.D. in chemistry from Purdue University and an M.D. from Cornell in 1976. It's easy to see why Gerry entered pediatrics—he's the father of triplets.

I also received the news that Terry Lowe, swimming coach at Greenwich High School since 1966, was inducted into the Connecticut High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame. During his tenure, Terry's teams have won more than 92 percent of their meets, and he has coached 44 All-Americans. He also coaches water polo. Although he missed the induction ceremony due to successful triplebypass surgery, reports are that he is doing well and making plans for the upcoming season. I am sure he would be glad to hear from his Dartmouth classmates.
