Well, folks, this is almost it. One more column and this secretary is history. We're several weeks from reunion; I hope to see you all there. Don't forget to send in your Alumni Fund contribution ASAP; there has been a change in the rules, and only contributions received before June 30 will count for our reunion year!
Speaking of our reunion, I got a call last week from Michael Hutton, who was calling to let me know that he has spoken with three classmates (and fellow zoom-schwartzers) who would definitely be joining us in June. Tris Coffin (minus his five dogs) will be there. So will Rick Niess, who is a lawyer living in Madison, Wisconsin. Fred Cann, a frequent contributor to this column, is in Portland, Ore., "lawyering" (a new verb in my vocabulary which must be defined as "talking into a tape recorder for six minutes and charging what most Americans would be happy to earn in an hour.")
We hope that Jim Vojesik will join us as well and contribute his fundraising expertise to our cause. Jim has recendy been named chief professional officer of the United Way of Southeastern Delaware County in Chester, Pa. A self-proclaimed "long shot" for making our reunion is Doug Richmond, who wrote that he is "laying low in Montana and holding down two jobs: hydrogeologist for an environmental-engineering firm and ski patrol/avalanche man for Bridger Bowl ski area. Doug, we hope you'll come.
Thanks to MIA Chris McConnell for a great letter in response to his recent listing among the most incommunicado. "Stacey and I still live near Philadelphia. We just had our fourth (!) child. Stacey (in my opinion an undisputed superwoman) continues to practice corporate law, and the chip-making company that I started about ten years ago is actually becoming prosperous. We are both anxious to return to the Hanover plain and catch up with all of the great classmates of 1975; we are especially anxious to see Fred Kriebel, Rob Rees-Jones, and all of the other "miserable Phi's."
As we are nearing the end of this secretary's MIA-listing opportunities, will the following please check in.
