All hail Paul S. Newman '45, King of the Comic Book Writers, who has created more scripts for comic books 10,000 written and 4,016 published than anyone in human history. His titles include "Archie," "Mighty Mouse," "Fat Albert," "Grimm's Ghost Stories," "G.I. Joe," "Tweety and Sylvester," "Superman," "Lone Ranger," and scores of others. The figures are confirmed by the newsletter History of the Comics, which bestowed the regal title with the prediction that Newman's output will never be equaled.
But here's the amazing part: the comics are only what Newman does in his spare time. A PR man who specializes in presentations for corporate meetings, he also wrote speeches for Basketball Commissioner J. Walter Kennedy and various corporate execs. And he has written factoid, religious, and children's books and numerous screen-plays. Coming up: his memoirs, a must-read for any serious student of the comics.
Newman made the Ranger ride.
