The former Mary Hitchcock Hospital went out with a bang. Really. A crew dynamited the building on September 9, leaving a rather large pile of rubble. Now comes the fun part for Hanover's sidewalk supers the pounding of the debris into pieces and filling the crater to build a parking lot.
The next heavy-equipment event: A new psychology building, to go across the street from where the hospital stood. The 80,000- square-foot structure, estimated to cost $19 million, is scheduled to open in January 1998."
