For the second month in a row my only news source is Bob Kirk. He writes: "In early August, Mary and I were on Cape Cod, where I had lunch with Gardie Bridge and Jake Davis. Both are well and accepting nourishment—both solid and liquid. On Sunday (8/20) we attended the baptism of die sole Bridge grandchild, in Walpole, N.H., and we enjoyed Gardie and Trish again."

Now I face a dilemma: do I fill up the rest of this space with an account of Betty's and my 50th wedding anniversary last June, or do I simply turn the column over to Kirk for the foreseeable future? The (surprise) anniversary was great, but I'll spare you the details. As for Bob, you could, of course, challenge his news monopoly by taking pen in hand and sharing your news with me and your classmates. I would appreciate that.
