I was the delighted recipient of an extremely cute holiday card from AnniDupre Santry. It featured her two very photogenic sons, Nelson and Gordon, in lederhosen that Anni says she bought while selling snowmaking equipment to ski areas in the Alps. "Honesdy!" she adds. What I'm not clear on is what it is Anni thought we wouldn't believe: that she leads a glamorous life gallivanting around famous European mountain ranges buying fanny Bavarian shorts, or that they need snowmaking equipment there?

Anni passed along the information that Dr. Leanne Eberly is practicing obstetrics in Colorado Springs with more dedication than most. She was due with baby number-two in February. And, says Anni, Liz Mueller is busy in San Diego lowering her handicap. She plans to try out for the Ladies LPGA tour this spring. As for the Santrys, they just bought a new house in Brookline, Mass.—one that's close to the country club, "in hopes," explains Anni,"of giving Liz a good round, next 18."

Will someone please give Ted Demopoulos a call and see if he's home? I have yet another missive from him chronicling yet more wanderlust activities. Now he's claiming that he fled the U.S. (what, again?) last winter to live in a tent about five days' hike from civilization on the southwest coast of New Zealand. "I live mainly on abalone, mussels, and an occasional fish," writes Ted. "I spent much time with the nearly extinct 'yellow-eyed' penguins. They're nearly extinct because they're kind of stupid and much too friendly.

"By early spring," our far-flung correspondent continues,"I felt the need to achieve something, so I went to Tokyo and Bangkok and did some high-tech information-highway type consulting." It was after that, according to Ted, that he went on the Middle Eastern spree described in last month's notes. His new line is that that trip was part-business, too—an attempt, perhaps (and a transparent one, I think) to change his self-coined travel-bum image. In this vein he coyly adds, "I plan to ski a lot and work from the slopes as much as possible. It's working out pretty well—business is great, my skiing still sucks." I don't know about you, but I'm eagerly awaiting the next installment in the Ted Demopoulos saga. It's better than, and almost as believable as, Melrose Place.

You've already read here about Peter Ham's marriage and honeymoon. Guess what's next: a baby! Her name is Elizabeth (after Peter's wife, who's actually called Lisa), and she was born in December. She and proud parents recently moved to a new house in Princeton, N.J. Peter sends news of another new dad. Chris Hunt and wife Susan who are (or are not?) still living in Germany were expecting their first child by the end of January.

Last July, I hear, Dana Vernon married Scott Bonham in San Francisco, where the couple is living.

Davis family will be growing," Frank Davis (yes, that president) writes. "Beth (my wife) is expecting a baby in May. Our daughter, Molly, was two years old in January, and I hope she'll adjust well. I spoke recently to Molly's godfather, Walter Ellis, who is a new father himself."

By the way, Frank also mentioned that we are in need of a new Alumni Council rep. Duties include going to council meetings in Hanover twice a year. Anyone interested can contact Frank at 6 Valley Road Extension, Milton, MA 02186, (617) 698-6919.
