The National Institutes of Health has named Med School biochemist T.Y. Chang to receive its Method to Extend Research in Time (MERIT) Award for his work on cholesterol metabolism. The award provides up to ten years of support for Chang and his research team, which earlier had cloned the gene for an enzyme involved in the buildup of cholesterol in humans. Chang has been at Dartmouth for 18 years.
