I want to open this month with a big thank you for all who have sent letters and e-mail! The news is much appreciated, so keep it coming.
Mary Felley sent word from Hong Kong, where she is "keeping an eye on the trends and political posturing associated with the 1997 handover." Mary works for an ecological consultant while working towards an M.Sc. in environmental management.
Other '87s in Hong Kong include EveStacy, James Margetts, and Jennifer Holcombe. Charlie Matt recently stopped in on his way to China. Everyone is flourishing, as is the Hong Kong Dartmouth Club which meets on the third Monday of each month at the LA Cafe.
John Gannon finished Tuck and took a job with Fidelity Investments in marketing systems, developing computer products for investors and internal-marketing types such as co-worker Kevin Wilkins. John and wife Mary '86 live in Belmont, Mass., with their two sons, Jack and Nick. The family enjoys sailing on Buzzards Bay and skiing in the North Country, and a third junior Gannon is on the way.
This winter the Gannons hooked up with Jonathan Bigelow and Max Cobb in Hanover. Jon, as I wrote recently, is at the University of Indiana getting his master's in education and history while wife Tove earns her master's in geography. They have two children, Mary-Sophie and Walker. Max is the leader of the U.S. biathalon team and has managed the team at events in Yellowstone, Lillehammer, and other great places.
Holly Taylor moved to the Boston area last year to be an assistant professor of psychology at Tufts. She was formerly at Texas University. Happy to be back in the Northeast, Holly sees Hugh Mac Arthur and his wife, Sarah, in Boston's Back Bay. Hugh completed his M.B.A. at Sloan and now works for Bain. Stephen Bouchard is also in Boston with a physician-hiring firm. On a different coast, Carolyn Schertzer lives in Berkeley, Calif., and works for Alta Bates.
Vicki Rydell Gottardi left IBM to attend pre-med classes and is now studying for the MCAT, just in time to apply to medical schools. She and husband Jim traveled to Italy for the winter holidays with their baby daughter Anna Michelle, born in September.
Chip Wilson and wife Cindy '88 are enjoying the Charlotte, N.C., area, where Chip works for Nations Bank. Their son Samuel Connor arrived in November.
Other recent arrivals from the stork include Alexandra Elisabeth Cina, daughter of SaraDann Cina and husband Steve. Sara and Steve are doing residencies in psychology and pathology, respectively, and will make a move to Baltimore from Charleston, S.C., this summer.
Sarah Anne Phillips, daughter of MelissaDuarte Phillips and husband Wayne, was born in October. Congratulations!
