Please mark your calendars for our 20th Reunion: June 13-15, 1997. The theme will be decidedly forward-looking and optimistic, with seminars like "Forty-something: Still Some Productive Years Left" and "How to Get Those Extra 50,000 Miles Out of Your '88 Taurus." Class President Steve Adnopoz, an AYSO league coordinator, promises a special presentation titled "Dealing with Soccer Parents While Keeping Your Sanity: It Can Be Done." Reunion Czars Todd Anderson and Jay Brown will give tips on finding the best deals at Sam's Wholesale Club. I, for one, will do my best to get Paul Gigot '77's autograph.
Kudos to the reunion committee on the nifty refrigerator magnets, which now occupy their places of honor next to the Domino's Pizza magnets around the world.
On October 13 Nick Lowery kicked his eighth field goal of the season and the 374th of his career, thereby passing Jan Stenerud as the NFL's most prolific field goal kicker of all time. Before the season is over, Nick may well pass Stenerud's total of 1,699 career points, which will place him second on the all-time list behind George Blanda. With a success rate of 80.2 percent, Nick is currently the second most accurate field-goal kicker ever, behind only Baltimore's Matt Stover at 80.66 percent.
Jim Dannis is running Salomon Brothers' investment banking business in Russia, splitting his time between Moscow and London, where he had previously been a lawyer with Cleary Gottlieb. At one point, Jim and Sandy were considering moving Larisa 9, Jenna 7, and Conor 4 from London to Moscow. Jim: give us details!

Also, get psyched for the next newsletter, which will feature three (count 'em) mini-reunion-type photos of:
1. the annual Rick Spier, Bill Dexter, Kevin Barber, Mark Arnold, Ed Hill, Peter Richardson, Mark McGowan and spouses/life partners get together—this year at Steamboat Springs, Colo. (Cindy and Bill Dexter, says Rick, have moved to Portland, Maine, where Bill will do family practice and sports medicine. Bill gets special thanks from me for stopping in and being a family doctor to my friends Steve and Bambi Wulf after the far-from-home delivery of their twins at Mary Hitchcock two years ago. Bill made the Wulfs feel so much at home that they nearly moved to Hanover.)
2. a Key Largo bacchanal featuring Bruce Rauner (venture capitalist in Chicago, wife Diane, five! kids), Dave Casper (Harris Bank Sr. VP in Chicago; wife Jane; three kids), Marty Cole (partner at Anderson Consulting in Hartford; wife Terry; three kids), Brad Blair (IBM system god in Grand Rapids; wife Sheri; two kids), Jeff Nadherny (real estate broker in Boston; wife Eileen; son Taylor), Charlie Denison (head of Chicago office of Banker's Trust; wife Bobbie; three kids), Bob McCarthy (stay-at-home dad in Denver; wife Isabella head of Pharmacy Services at Rose Medical Center; two kids), and Bollie Bollenbach (manager at Linbeck Corp. in Houston; wife Randi; son Willard Marshall Bollenbach IV, known as "Quad").
3. of Lisa Miles McNamara (and kids Carolyn, Billy, and Michael), Amy Simon Berg (and children Sonia and Charlotte), and Kathy Blauvelt Tremmel '79 (and kids Lisa and Sarah) and Jane Kirrstetter Ingram (and kids Julie 5 and John 3). Jane reports that, during a day of summer fan at her home in Andover, the participants wondered: How is Jill Eilertson Rogers doing in the south of France? How is Kathy Maher? And what about Lauren Tanny in San Francisco? (Answers Tres bien; fine, at the Bank of Boston Corp. and at Wellesley Hills; and blazing publishing trails at Kramer Communications.)
