New York Jet Nick Lowery '78 has earned the mantle of most prolific NFL field goal kicker, passing Jan Stenerud's 373 by one as we go to press. Lowery is now gunning for Stenerud's standing on the all-time scoring list. In mid-October Lowery was at 1,656, behind Stenerud's 1,699 (and both of them miles behind the ageless George Blanda's 2,002). And Lowery is now No. 2 on the all-time accuracy list, at 80.2 percent, behind Baltimore's Matt Stover at 80.66 percent.
