No wonder I couldn't get Ted Baehr on the telephone a while back. A letter from Ted Baehr Jr. '69 to the mag informs us that he, Ted Jr., took his father, Ted Sr., with him on a recent trip to London and then to Germany. In London Ted Jr. had the honor of speaking at a meeting of the House of Lords in Parliament on the issue of how the media affects children and culture. Two days after his talk the BBC adopted tough new decency standards. He thinks his talk may have spurred the action. In Germany he spoke before the German Film Community. All of this seems to disqualify Ted Sr. from our inactive list.
Another classmate whose qualifications for inactive status are doubtful is TavyTailor. Last September he and his wife, Louise, flew from Santa Rosa, Calif., to Boston, hired a car and drove to Greenville, Me., to visit their daughter. He says the timing was perfect for the foliage. Tavy also goes to San Francisco to the Dartmouth Club meetings which are held monthly. He says he doesn't see any other '28ers there. He says he is in good shape and certainly sounds hale and hearty on the phone.
