APRIL 1996 Peter Weston,

Jim Lawrie recently wrote to say he's looking forward to our 50th birthday in September. Ever observant, Jim pointed out somewhat gloomily that our column is no longer in the back of this esteemed publication, but was encouraged to see that there are still more pages ahead of this column than behind it. Thanks for pointing this out, Jim. I'm not sure whether this makes me feel good or bad. I'll opt for good. No, Jim, I don't have an e-mail address yet. But, between Ruth, my technologically-advanced wife, and Matt and Mary, my technologically advanced children, I may wind up on die web in spite of myself. Classmates can e-mail this column via the Alumni Magazine web site or , which will then mail me a copy of your message. Arnie Resnicoff has already figured this out.

Former Massachusetts state representative Sherwood Guernsey has been named director of domestic programs for the Peace Corps. This is a homecoming for Sherwood who, with wife Carol, served in the Peace Corps in Panama from 1969 through 1971. An attorney with a private practice in Pittsfield, Mass., he plans to commute between Washington, D.C., and his home in Williamstown. The Guernsey family includes son Matthew and two daughters, Kathryn and Margo, a student at Brown.

A note from S. Henry Werner '34 reports that Oscar-winning son PeterWerner has been keeping himself busy directing films for television.

Dick Dolsky, internationally prominent cosmetic surgeon, has been inducted as an honorary member of the Argentine Association of Aesthetic Medicine and the Argentine Association of Lipoplasty. Clinical psychologist Jim Hennessey has gone into fulltime private practice with offices in Glens Falls, Saratoga Springs, and Colonie, N.Y. Among Jim's specialties is the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders. Hmmmm...maybe he'll be available for consultation at our 50th birthday party. We could combine a visit to Jim with a road trip to Skids. Let's see, D'Andrea's, the No-Name, then Hennessey's. I'm going to suggest that class president Mark Waterhouse consider creating another position that of official clinical psychologist to the class roster. Are you interested, Jim?

Little-known fact: John Engelman is co-chair of the Coed, Fraternity and Sorority (CFS) Advisory Group at the College. The group assists CFS advisors in their role as resources to the College's fraternities, sororities, and coed fraternities.

Your class executive committee met on November 18. Mark Waterhouse, GerryBell, Dennis Donahue, John Engelman,Ed Heald, Dave Peck, John Pilling, RonWeiss, and Peter Weston attended. Plans for our 50th birthday party are coming along nicely and include a class meeting Saturday morning, a tailgate party before the football game, and a class dinner Saturday night. The date is September 21-22, so mark your calendars now.
