Bob Kempainen '88 won a spot at the head of the U.S. Marathon team at the summer Olympics and a record-breaking marathon prize—$100,000—at the 26.2-mile trials. The final-year medical student returned to the University of Minnesota to receive his M.D. before turning his feet to Atlanta.
