A composition by former associate music professor Paul Moravec, "Northern Lights Electric," had its New York premiere recently in a performance by the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. The work, called a "modern-day 'Applachian Spring'," is scored for string quartet, flute, clarinet, and piano.
