Robert Frost's Homecoming
SEPTEMBER 1996

Robert Frost, class of 1896, received Dartmouth honoraries in 1933 and 1955. One Dartmouth honor escaped him: a statue. So the class of 1961 decided to commission a bronze by sculptor George Lundeen, whose prominent works include the statue of Ben Franklin on Penn's campus. The Frost statue was dedicated at the class's 35th Reunion in a ceremony behind the Rockefeller Center. Then the statue was placed in storage until campus officials can select the ideal site.

Perhaps they should consult Frost himself. Where do you think he would want to sit? Send us suggestive lines from Frost's poetry.

"Good fences make good neighbors."-On the Green near the senior fence.

"Home is the place where, when you have to go there,They have to take you in." -Lobby of the Blunt Alumni Center.

"Two roads diverged ina wood." -The little triangle formed by the fork in Tuck Drive.
