You might be a Generation X-er if you remember trying to guess the episode of the Brady Bunch from the first scene, and VCRs cost $ 1,000. In July, Bill Rodgers wrote from Virginia to say that he and his wife, Yana (Cornell '87), celebrated the birth of their second child, William McKinley Rodgers IV. (Great name, Bill!). Big Bill's political career is also coming along. He was appointed to the WilliamsburgJames City County School Board. In fact, the superintendent is James Kent '62. The Green stick together.
Michael Rieger got married in September, 1996, to Kai Alohi Souder on Kai's native land, Maui. They spent their honeymoon at the Great Barrier Reef doing some diving, fishing, and travel. Many congratulations to David Kotz, who received tenure and a promotion to associate professor of computer science at Dartmouth this summer. What's happening in Jewell, lowa, you ask? Ask Ray Holtorf and his new wife, Rhea. Ray is a real domestic man, getting his house in shape with gardening, landscaping, and lots of home repair. Ray works as a human resources director for Woodruff Construction, but is aspiring to be a moderately conservative talk show host/politician. In the meantime, he is a devout lowa Barnstormers (the local arena football team) fanatic. Ken Klemm is married, living in New Orleans, and working as an attorney in maritime law. He ran into Liz McClintock at the JazzFest in May. Never a dull moment with Burgie Howard. He, Gabrielle, and dog Ziggy moved to "the balmy state of Maine." Burgie has taken a position at Bowdoin College, where word on the street is that he's now part of the Dartmouth Mafia invading the campus. Burgie and Gabrielle welcome visitors to their Brunswick estate. (Hint: you can email Burgie and loads of other '86s through our class Web site). Todd Krein married Laurel Hooper a year ago September. Todd has spent the last couple of years working for WebTV doing hardware and software design for the existing product and next year's model. He earned seven patents and is working on more. Todd and Laurel bought a brand new house in South San Jose. Jayne Daigle Jones is successfully juggling, and I mean juggling, four kids now. Last summer, she and the tots, ages 7 to a few months, were swimming in the town pool in Watertown, Mass. Folks, ya gotta picture this. She had the littlest, Danny, sitting on the edge with his feet in the water with her left hand on his stomach. Next up, Brendan, was on her back. Meaghan was on Jayne's right hip, and the eldest, Drew, was holding onto Brendan's back. Only Jayne could pull this off! MikeAckerman was living in London with his wife, Sara (Brown '86), and managing the information technology department at Morgan Stanley's European branch offices. Last month they moved to Hong Kong, where he became the company's head of technology for non-Japan Asia. CarrieFraser Donaldson, husband Bob '84, and daughter Ann welcomed baby Peter last August. Last May Kathy Gord Callahan and Tom '84 had a baby girl named Grace Stuart. The Callahans live in Johannesburg, South Africa.
