1996

Hi, all. Just two reports to pass along this month, both evidence that 1997 has been a prime year for love and marriage in the class of 1996 (when did we get this old anyway?): Warm congratulations go out to AmyMcLean, who finished her first year of medical school at Cornell last spring, and just recently announced her engagement to Jared Sprole '95. Amy writes that Jared asked her to marry him while on a beach in Cancun during spring break this year. "I could not be happier!" she reports. The happy couple plans to be married in Hanover next spring.

Also on the marriage front, I am pleased to report that an impressive crowd of Dartmouth alums turned out for the July 26 wedding of Chesley Homan and Peter Flotten '94. Held in Maine on the lawn of the Homan home, the wedding party included Suzanne Leonard, TaraCallahan, and Sara Pfeiffer '95, as well as Jon Mann '94 and Mike McClure '94.

Among the guests were Steve Wampler,Dave Kasregis, and Kim Cleveland, who starts this fall at Georgetown Law School, as well as Christina Eng, HollyeMorehead, who is in her second year at Cornell Law, and Matt Holmwood, also in his second year at Penn Law (anyone sense a law school trend here?).

A number of '94s and '95s also turned out for the occasion, among them Deb Connell '94,Jud Caswell '94, and Marci Retsema '95. I apologize to the other Dartmouth guests in attendance whom I have failed to mention I know this list is incomplete, but unfortunately, the bride and groom were unable to pass along a complete guest list before the deadline for this column. I have heard through the grapevine, however, that they have returned home safely to Virginia, so perhaps there will be a footnote to add to the next edition.
