The College recently honored six alumni for their service to Dartmouth. The highlights of their citations:
Alumni Award-winner Robert Dana Blake '65, TU '69, has held almost every position in his class and Dartmouth clubs and groups in the Boston area. He has also served as Alumni Council member, as leadership and fraternity/sorority agent, and on Dartmouth's educational and Alumni in the Schools groups. Professionally, Blake has spent his life in higher education at MIT. And, since receiving his ensign stripes through Dartmouth's NTROTC program, he has logged 29 years in die Naval Reserve.
Another Alumni Award goes to Elmer Teare Browne'4O, who has given back to his College as class president, secretary, treasurer,, agent, reunion chairman, class bequest co-chairman, and enrollment officer and.on leadership committees and community, as a member of the Lion's Club, an emergency medical technician, founder of a church in Florida, and a force in the .American Indian Archaeological Institute.
Lynne Alison Hamel Gaudet '81 received a Young Alumni Distinguished Service Award as she returns to Hanover with husband Bob '81, Dartmouth's new men's hockey coach. She has served as class agent, club liaison officer, vice president and president of the Rhode Island club, and on the Alumni Council. All this while helping her conimunitv as schoolroom mother and food bank volunteer and, as a real estate agent, earning membership in the Si -million sales club.
John Philip Hall '57, TU'61, has meant business all his life—be it in the-navy, Johnson & Johnson, or Dartmouth. He graduated cum laude at Dartmouth and with the highest distinction from Tuck. He spent 34 years as vice president and president of several divisions at Johnson & Johnson. During this time Hall continued his commitment to Dartmouth, serving on leadership and gift committees, Alumni Fund and reunion giving committees, and as class agent, treasurer, and president. For his efforts he received an Alumni Award.
A Young Alumni Distinguished Service Award went to Mary Thomson Renner '82, who has served the College as class agent for 15 years, member of executive and reunion committees, president of the Mini-Reunion Chairs Association, and class president. She has been an enrollment worker, job development adviser, board member of the Alumni Association of Greater Boston, and is currently president of the Class Presidents Association and a member of the Alumni Council.
Also receiving an Alumni Award was Edward John Rosenwald Jr. '52, TU '53, who has been president, chairman, or trustee of almost every notable cause or institution iii New York"City, including business enterprises, parks, museums, environmental causes, educational,enterprises, the Foundation for Children with Learning Disabilities, and the Columbia Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse. In Hanover Rosenwald served the College as fundraiser par excellence, raising money in campaign after campaign. He has also worked as a class agent, head agent, class president, as a member of the President's Advisory Council and the Rockefeller Center board. And he has put in ten years as a College Trustee, the last five as chairman, and as chair of the Will to Excel Campaign during its first three years.
