Notes from far and near. A postcard from Audrey and Stu May in Alaska reports their happiness with a trip to the northern states from the most southern state of Florida. Increasing their delight was seeing Bruce Brown in the Seattle SCORE office, both men being regular participants in that worthy program. Another traveler was Frank Munsey, who spent some happy days in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico, early this year. He also claimed a good time at home in Pinehurst, N.C., where he was briefly hospitalized for intestinal bleeding caused by the medication he was getting for an abcessed tooth. Ya gotta watch those doctors, Frank.

Don Brown in Darien, Conn., was wondering where he could contact his friend Willard Lawrence. The College last reported Willard in Martinique, West Indies. Help, please, anyone. Not missing, but ailing, Tom Trump was in a Sarasota hospital for a month this summer after a gall bladder attack that was first thought to be a heart problem. He was on the mend and heading for the cooler clime of Milwaukee in July.

Another Sarasotan with happier news was Don Taber, past president of the local D. club. He and Jo had a reunion of five generations in June with jo's relatives coming from as far away as California. Her 90-plus-year-old mother presided over the pizza-and-pasta soiree.

Talked to Don Taber's Richardson Hall roomie Dave Mulliken, a retired pediatrician in Pikeville, Ky. Dave is recuperating from a stroke he suffered earlier this year. Since his wife, Virginia, passed away a few years ago he has moved into a smaller house, and he has the nearby company of two sons. Terry '75 is an attorney in Pikeville, and a handicapped son has an apartment in town. Dave regrets the departure of the Pikeville Cubs baseball team, of which he was a key sponsor, but he fondly remembers when now all-star Greg Maddux twirled for his Cubs.

Caught Pete Keir on the phone in Alexandria, Va., in July. He had just celebrated Wimbledon Breakfast, a tradition at his tennis club, and he was looking forward to a Keir family reunion to be held in Quechee, Vt., on July 18 weekend. Pete planned to show some of the high-schoolage grandchildren the College, but he was afraid the young Floridians might be turned off by the prospect of winter snow.

Norm Jones reported a very wet summer out in Burlington, lowa, with the loss of many trees in a June storm. Fortunately there was no flooding as in recent years when the Mississippi invaded Norm's place of business. Norm had one knee replaced successfully, and his wife is the proud recipient of two knees and one hip. A rugged bunch, the Joneses, further testified by their daughter and her husband, who are heading for their 14th season in Antarctica.
