Class Officers Weekend this year is on September 14,15 and 16.I won't attend, but it is likely that president Ed Brummer and class newsletter editor Margaret Bean will carry the flag for 1931. This week I received my physical examination certificate from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, after getting both the eyes and bod checked. This means I should have no trouble in getting the validity of my driver's license extended to July 31,2001, to prepare for getting to our 70th.

This past weekend my oldest son John, finished taping my memoirs of some 90 years. He returned to his residence in NYC to make an orderly arrangement of some eight or 10 tapes in cassettes. We did the job in my Luther Crest apartment in one three-day period and in a second two-day period. Each tape lasted no longer than two hours, which I found to be about the limit of spiel before some R&R was needed. I look forward to hearing the finished product, and will probably have copies made for my other sons so that they can tell their families and friends what sort of an old bag of bones I used to be.

Coach Lyons reports the recruits we picked up for the fresh-class included some quality receivers and defense operatives. I'm planning to attend the Penn and Princeton games, and I'll report.

The College reported Art Ecker residing in a retirement community in Jamesville, N.Y.; and the losses of Wes Taylor on February 21,1999, Art Spiegel on June 25 and Gordie Carver on June30.
