Mini-reunion news is in limbo as I write this in August. It's too late to urge you to attend this fall's because this DAM issue will arrive in your mailbox just about the time the mini is held on Homecoming/Yale weekend in Hanover. And, obviously, I can't report yet on any of the happenings.

I can report, however, that on the agenda of the class executive council's meeting Saturday morning is the "passing of the gavel" from Bob Wilkinson to Bob Kilmarx. You may recall that the class bylaws specify that the succession goes from class agent to vice president and then to class president, and that time has come. Both Bobs have been loyal Dartmouth alumni and extremely active in both '50 and College activities. We bid adieu with thanks to Dr. Bob and welcome to Atty. Bob.

Speaking of mini-reunions, I remind you again of the one to be held in Florida on the weekend of January 29-31. By all reports, last year's was a great one, and this year's should be even better. I suspect that there will be many more than the 80 who showed up last year because the word has been spread about how much fan it was. It's an opportunity not only for the Floridians to gather, but provides a great reason for the rest of us to go down and spend a week or so in the Sunny South. Barbara and I plan to do just that. Give it some thought, and come on down and join the gang. A fine prelude to our upcoming 50th. You'll be getting more info from head honcho Bob Mcllwain in sifty Joe's newsletter.

None of us is hardly old enough yet to be ready for our 50th Reunion, but it's coming sooner than you think. The planning is well under way under the leadership of reunion chairman Joel Leavitt and his committee. Among other things, we've been reviewing the yearbooks of previous 50ths and other reunions and starting to put together ours. In my opinion the best books are those with lots of pictures (i.e., current with families) and good biography write-ups by class members. A few months from now you'll be asked by Joe to submit both bios and pix, and I sincerely hope you'll do so enthusiastically.

Look at it this way: This is a chance for each of us to get into at least one "historybook, "...and our families as well as our classmates will appreciate reading about and seeing us in years to come.

Nuff said.
