Honoring ike Clubs

Members of the Club Officers Association gathered last November to honor eight alumni and clubs. Clifford R. Ennico '75 was named Club President of the Year. Under his leader-Dartmouth Club of Bridgeport—which received honorable mention as Small Club of the year—co-sponsored a seminar with the Fairfield Club, Watched a Dartmouth football game on TV, and held a Christmas party, a theater party, and an annual dinner.

Donald B. Davidoff '56 of Albany, N.Y., was named District Enrollment Di rector of the Year. This past president of the Club Officers Association has also served as an enrollment worker, club president, club secretary book award chairman, Alumni, Councilor, and raised funds as a fraternity/sorority agent and "reunion giving committee member.

The Dartmouth Club of Southeastern Connecticut, with just over 200 alumni mi its mailing list, was named Smaill Club of the Year. It hosted a dinner with a presentation In Dartmouth professor Jere Daniel! '55, a trip to see a Dartmouth hockey game, and a picnic for the Ledyard Canoe Club.

The clubs from New York City and Greater Boston share the title of Metro Club of the Year. In 1997 the New York alumni association volunteered for Christmas in April |and sponsored an afternoon at the Big Apple Circus, 'joint events with both the Black and Native American Alumni associations, and a seminar on "Communication in a Perilous World" with Professor John Rassias. The 'Greater Boston group sponsored a freshman send-off luncheon, an afternoon at the Big Apple Circus, receptions and dinners before Dartmouth athletic events, and a financial seminar.

The Dartmouth Club of Piedmont earned Medium Size Club of the Year honors by sponsoring an annual picnic, a dinner/concert with other Ivy League schools, a telecast of football game, a Winter Carnival Party; an; annual dinner with the Dartmouth,-Gree Club, and a sky watch and museum Visit, both involving alumni is lecturers.

The alumni clubs of the Upper Valley and tie' Midwest were both awarded Large Club of the Year. In the past year the Upper Valley club organized monthly receptions with College speakers, an annual dinner with a speaker, a bus trips to. away athletic events, and a community Service project to help clean up a facility used by parents with children in a local hospital. The Midwest group sponsored a night at a Minor League baseball game, a presidential dinner, a skating and cross-country outing, helped paint a homeless shelter, and also participated in an Arthritis Foundation Walk-a-Thon.
