Mary and Dick Olmsted, like some of our classmates, winter in Florida, but that was not south enough for them. So this spring, having visited Antarctica, the Strait of Magellan, and the Falkland Islands a few years ago, repeated most of it. Then they took the Drake Passage, encircled Cape Horn and cruised the west coast of Chile to Valparaiso.

Speaking of circumnavigation, Pete Knight did this to all of New England in 1933 in a two-man kayak with a youngster of 17. They paddled from Lake Champlain to the St. Lawrence, past Gaspe to the Bay of Fundy, the Adantic, Cape Cod Canal, Long Island Sound to New York City. The youngster became author Harold Putnam '37, who tells about this in his biographical new book Yankee Journal.

Dobbie and Art Allen celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary recendy and Kay and Win Smoyer of Alhambra, Calif., also married 62 years ago, wait excitedly for the birth of their fourth great-grandchild in Phoenix. They promise to visit us when he arrives, and we can compare notes, since Ruth and Joe Roberts expect their first great-grandchild. (It's a girl. Isn't ultrasound wonderful?)

The mini-reunion will be October 16-17, the weekend of Dartmouth Night and the Yale game.

It is with sadness that we report the recent deaths of four fine ladies: Amy Corbett, Jim's wife; Edna (Eddie) Stoiber, Dick's wife; Dorothy Daniels, Whit's wife; and Dawn Auten, widow of Hanford "Handy" Auten.
