Now why can't more months be like this? I do in fact have my own original material, but how can I NOT pass along this thorough update from Tracy Scammell? Without further ado (and after some creative editing to meet the dreaded word count)...
"After reading this column diligently for six years and never finding my or any of my friends' names, I decided to be proactive and not let anyone think we had drifted into the land of the lame. So I called together some fellow '92s, opened a bottle of wine, and drafted the following update!
"Having graduated from Fordham Law, Meridith Sopher is an attorney for the juvenile rights division of the Legal Aid Society in N.Y.C. representing children who are abused, neglected, or charged with crimes. She recently completed the AIDS Ride, biking from Boston to N.Y.C. She frequently sees Tracy Hagan-Mallory and Hilary Spaulding-Richards, since their husbands/boyfriends attended Harvard together. Hilary is expecting a baby, and if the delivery is anything like her Halloween-themed wedding from last year, Hilary will be wearing a pumpkin costume. KatieGeller, another Fordham Law attendee, recently got engaged no themes are planned as of yet. No wedding bells for our perpetually dating, never-committed Gabrielle Brooks. She is too busy working for Anne Rice, Walter Cronkite, and Clint Eastwood as a senior publicist at Alfred Knopf. She lives with Alice Scott, who graduated from St. John's Law in 1997, then chose to accept a job as an assistant vice president at U.S. Trust. Liz Hellman also lives in Manhattan, working at Radio City Productions, where she is privy to perks such as free WNBA and Lord of The Dance tickets (that Michael Flatley makes us all drool!).
"I am across the river, as is JessicaDeSecundy-Lubow. I graduated from Michigan Business School in 1997 and now work as a marketing consultant with Arthur D. Little, who, ironically, allows me to work from my home in Hoboken. That has its perks—for example, watching daytime TV and catching Grinnel Morris as a contestant on The New Match Game (he won). Jessica married Jonathan Lubow '89 on Labor Day weekend 1996. She works in admissions and teaches tenth-grade literature at a co-ed private school, Newark Academy. She is also the first of us to be an official suburban homeowner!
"Marion Ciborski lives in upstate N.Y. with her husband, Tino, and their new son, Aaron Alexander. She met Tino while doing human rights work in Guatemala, and the rest is history! Brett Skoll-Perryman will be clerking in D.C. after she finishes her J.D./master's in public policy from Duke in May. Brett married Jay Perryman '90 in August 1996.
"Betsy Raab graduated from Case Western Medical this past summer and is now a first-year resident in pediatrics at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Rumor has it she is in the same program as SandyBurnham and Leslie Siegel. SarahMinifie, a newly minted lawyer, recently graduated from Georgetown Law and has relocated to N.Y.C. to be close to the action. Someone in the middle of it is AllisonWalker since she relocated to L.A. a few years ago. She left her job with the William Morris talent agency and has branched out to seek greater fulfillment.
"According to Alice Scott, Sue Joe Shin recently transferred to Japan. She couldn't recall exactly what he was doing but has a hunch he may be single-handedly responsible for their recent economic downturn.
"That's all for now. I'll write back in another six years!"
