If your kids or grandkids are not hearty eaters (like we all were in Thayer and at Hal's) fret no longer, help is here. Dr. William Wilkoff's new book, Coping with a Picky Eater. A Guide for the Perplexed Parent, suggests sensible strategies that will establish a lifetime of healthful eating habits. Bill's a recognized expert on practical child rearing subjects, writing columns for Pedi-atric News and other publications on sleep prob- lems, breast-feeding, and discipline. After Dart- mouth and Harvard Medical School he trained at Duke Medical Center and Children's Hos- pital in Boston before launching his pediatric practice. Ted Thompson, a fixture in the Upper Valley banking community for 3 0 years, is now a commercial loan officer at Lake Sunapee Bank's Centerra Marketplace office (the one near the Dartmouth Medical Center). Rick Reiss, long-time investor and fund manager specializing in the communications, media and entertainment industries, has been named to the board of directors of Grey Advertising in NYC.
Richard Dellamora, professor of English and a recognized expert on Victorian-era lit- erature at Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario, is a recent recipient of a prestigious Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship. As a Guggenheim Fellow Dick is a visiting scholar in New York University's English department, where he will continue research on the cultural construction of mas- culinity in Victorian England by examining male portraits in novels by Dickens, Disraeli, and Trollope. Dick has been on the Trent faculty since earning his doctorate in English from Yale in 1971. He was acting chair of the graduate program in methodologies for the study of Western history and culture and teaches Victorian literature and cultural studies courses. Old friend Terry Ruggles has spent the last 20 years as a sales representative for printing companies throughout New England, the last eight with Mangani & McCormick in Enfield, Conn. Terry, still based in Greenfield, Mass., is, like a lot of us, exploring new directions. Tell us what star you're navigating by now, and we'll pass on the word to many fellow travelers.
