Changes on the Big Board

The Board of Trastees announced William H. King Jr. '63 of Richmond, Virginia, as its new chair, effective June 13,1999. King succeeds U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Stephen W. Bosworth '61. The Board also announced the election of a new member, Russell L. Carson '65, and the extension, until June 2ooo, of the term of Trustee Kate Stith-Cabranes '73.

The Alumni Council is soliciting nominations for the vacancy on the Board of Trustees that will be created when Richard Page '54 retires in June of 2ooo. The Council will present a slate of three nominees for the Trustee seat, for all alumni to vote on next spring. Nominees must be Dartmouth alumni, and should have the background and experience to contribute to the governance of the College.
