The elusive Jon Hurst wrote in with an update. While in his third year of law school at Case Western, he is also working for a sports agent, drafting contract proposals for NFL and WNBA players and college football coaches. And he continues his illustrious career as a girls' high school swimming coach—last year he won the Division I girls' Coach of the Year Award in his district.
Kate Rice recently relocated to Arlington,
Virginia, working for the D.C. office of Lucent Technologies. She writes that Kerry Vance and Suzanne Michels are in the process of moving to San Francisco—Kerry is staying with her current company Verio and Suzanne is switching jobs. Kate noted that Kristen Johnson is still in Boston toiling for an architectural firm while Jen Moeller is in the Big Apple as a paralegal by day and costume designer by night for several productions including one that will be at the Met.
Kara Josephberg, Matt Herman, Dara Denberg and Shirley Sperling are starting their last year at NYU Law School, and Kara notes they have a few '98s who are new NYU iLs—Kate Knaus, Joey Weingarten and Marisa Howe. Says Kara: "Dan Weinberg also just started law school out in California. I am very excited that Ali Jacoby has just moved to New York. She has started working at Creative Good, a Web site consulting firm. But with Ali's arrival, I have lost a good friend to Philadelphia. Susanna McFadden just started a Ph.D. program in art history at UPenn. Kate Nugent just went to Australia to visit Danielle Guthrie, who is spending a year there working for Goldman Sachs. Speaking of Guthrie, she got engaged in May and is getting married at Dartmouth next September." Kate Nugent threw a potluck dinner several weeks ago to gather Kara, Carrie Langsdorf, Sara Burch, Carrie Spring, Katie Bardzik (who is starting her second year at Dartmouth Med School), Julia Morrill (who is heading off to be a journalist in Argentina) and Katie Malone (who is still working at Miramax).
Shannon Jarosh and Kevin Walsh wed in late June in a lovely early evening ceremony in Ridgefield, Connecticut, surrounded by Dartmouth friends. Shannons sisters Kristi '97 and Brynne Jarosh were her maids of honor with bridesmaids Amanda Nelson, Kristin Kelly and me in attendance, and Dan Mazzucco, Lincoln Willis, Jon Hurst and Josh Papsdorf as ushers. Rob Fasani read during the ceremony and Father John of Aquinas House married the couple with '98s Colleen O'Connor, Wendy Simon, John Magyar, Andy Smith, Erin Walsh, Jason Hsiao, Juan Carlos Serna, Maurissa Horwitz, Jessica Ellsworth, Christal Costello, Dave Ware, Tiffany Taylor, Doug Doucet and many others looking on.
Rob Fasani writes in from California where he says he "transitioned out of active duty and will now serve in the National Guard in California. At least until I go back to Dartmouth for the winter and spring terms to get my B.E. Then I'll be in the N.H. National Guard. In the meantime, I'm living near Sacramento (at home), coaching the receivers at my old high school (bro Rocky is a senior and quarterback), working at Banana Republic (if they interview me and hire me—I applied yesterday) and generally taking a semester off work.'My main activity will be watching Randy play football at Stanford since he's now the starting quarterback."
