To his Dartmouth football teammates, Adam Nelson '97 was known as a wild man. To his fraternity brothers, he was simply "Nellie." Now he has a new moniker: Olympic medalist. Here Nelson reacts to winning the silver medal in shot put at the Games in Sydney, Australia, with a throw of 69 feet, 7 inches. Not bad for a little guy at 6 feet, 250 pounds, Nelson is one of the smaller shot-putters in recent history.
