Reference to Brazil in my Class Notes in the November issue of DAM produced a report on several matters from VicKing, who recalled trying to salvage a client's estate in that country.
Since September 1999 Vic has been in three New Hampshire hospitals with a broken neck after his Volvo took over the driving and hit a utility pole. He's now at home, having avoided surgery because arthritis has been holding the vertebrae in place. He guesses that a 35-foot fall down Owl's Head Cliff in 1930 may have started the arthritis. Can you beat that!
His Christmas tree stand in Carroll County is doing well, and he hopes to again supply the state forestry laboratory in Boscawen with Fraser fir seeds, of which that stand is probably the only New Hampshire source.
Harrison Baldwin's widow, Betty, and family kindly sent a note of thanks for the message of sympathy by the class.
Halfway through the '99-00 Alumni Fund campaign John Boermeester and his troops need your help to get 1931 over the top in dollar total and in classmate participation. Let's go!
Just obtained my certificate of completion of the AARP 55 Alive/mature driving course, and hope I'll still be driving in order to get to our 70th Reunion in June 2001. Sorry to have to report the losses of SamTaylor on July 22, Bob Wagner on September 18 and Harrison Baldwin on September 20, all in 1999.
