In the current Alumni Office computer print-out of '31 's phone numbers and mailing addresses I recently found the address of Art Ecker, and that it was different from that in our 1990 class directory. A subsequent check of all classmate addresses in the latter found changes in 54 of them! So, if any of you have lost track of classmates and need addresses or phone numbers, I'll, be glad to help.

Congrats to Dave Borkum and helpers for exceeding the class Alumni Fund dollar goal. One hundred three of the 146 living classmates for whom we have addresses, some 70.5 percent, participated, compared with less than 50 percent of the entire alumni body. The steadily declining latter percentage in recent years must be worricnme to the. College.

From Joe Ruskay in reply to my notes in the September issue, "All flat taxes are regressive and unfair, as are the consumption taxes. Our tax system is a disgrace. We need a truly progressive income tax based on ability to pay." On VE Day Joe was with an intelligence unit of the French Ist Army, doing plain language radio intercepts at the front. Before that he was in cryptanalysis of high-grade German military transmissions. This in the U.S. 6th Army, which included my armored division.

Regret reporting the deaths of BunceClarkson on May 14 and of Ted Johnson on August 7. Eleanor Clarkson wrote that their son, Roger '75, resides nearby and is of great help.
