Flying High

Flying High For the first time in two years, keg jumpers were cleared for takeoff as Psi U resumed its popular carnival event in February. Last year, the event was cancelled in the wake of the outcry over the student life initiative. Here, Psi U brothers Errik Anderson '00 and Jake Elberg '00 take a dive early in the competition as referee Ryan Perdue '01 looks on. "While not exactly within the regulations," Elberg says, "tandem jumping is quite common during the early rounds." The leap grew to 13 kegs in length before Pablo Stern '01 claimed victory, tying the event record. Open to Psi U members only, the event raises money forOutreach House, a local classisted-living community for the elderly.
