Bob Smith, our dauntless head agent, received a Dartmouth College Fund Chairmans Citation for his leadership during the 2000-2001 Alumni Fund campaign. As reported earlier, our class exceeded its goal and early in the campaign at that. Thanks to all who participated. Let's do it again this year.
Geoff Rogers has become a principal with the law firm of McNamee, Lochner, Titus & Williams, P.C., in Albany, New York. He practices in the areas of banking law and consumer financial services law. Geoff has an M.B.A. from Clarkson and a law degree from Syracuse. He and his wife, Sandra, live in Clifton Park, New York.
Great Lakes Chemical Corp. in Indianapolis, Indiana, has named John Blatz as vice president for environment, health and safety. Great Lakes is the world's leading producer of various specialty chemicals, including flame retardants, polymer stabilizers and applications for water treatment and life sciences. John is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School. During his career he has held legal and environmental compliance positions at Scott Paper Cos.,Black & Decker, Goldman Financial Group and Dexter Corp.
David Wilson is director of private client investment policy for Merrill Lynch. He is responsible for providing strategic investment guidance to the firms U.S. private client group. Prior to assuming this position in 2000, Wils, a chartered financial analyst, worked in Merrill Lynch's corporate and institutional client group. Although he started after graduation with Merrill Lynch, he subsequently held positions at PaineWebber, Lehman Brothers and JP Morgan. Wils and wife Ann live in New Canaan, Connecticut.
Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering announced that Todd Stern has joined the law firm as a partner, resident in the Washington, D.C., office. He will focus on congressional investigations, crisis management, legislative and policy matters. Todd served in the Clinton administration in various capacities, including assistant to the president and staff secretary, assistant to the president for special projects, and counselor to Secretary of the Treasury Lawrence Summers. Prior to joining the White House staff in 1993, Todd served as senior counsel to Senator Patrick Leahy. Since leaving Washington in June 1999,Todd has been an adjunct lecturer at Harvard's School of Government and a resident fellow at the German Marshall Fund of the United States. He is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a trustee of the Washington Institute of Near East Policy. Todd received his law degree from Harvard.
