Joe Kagle '55 travels this fall to Tbilisi, in the former Soviet Republic, Georgia, on a Fulbright fellowship to teach American art and museum studies and to organize collections at two museums. He will also paint: "I will be trying to wed my abstract images with 9th-century Christian iconmaking techniques in new works created there," he says.

Gib Myers '64 received the Community Service Award from the Silicon Valley chapter of the National Conference for Community and Justice. The founder and chairman of the Entrepreneurs Foundation earned the

award for his efforts helping young companies incorporate community involvement in their organizations.

Thomas Wentworth 70, a North Carolina State University botany professor, has received the Meritorious Teaching Award from the Association of Southeastern Biologists. He earned the award for, according to the citation, "his ability to explain things with contagious enthusiasm in class and laboratory sessions."

Pamela Joyner Love 73. founding partner of Avid Capital Partners, LLC, in San Francisco, was elected by Dartmouth trustees to its board. At its June meeting the board also elected its first female chair,

Susan Dehtzer '77.

Lisa Densmore '83 earned an International Teddy Award for "Best Instruction Program" for Mastering theMountain, a series of two-minute ski tips that she produced, wrote and hosted and which aired nationally on Resort Sports Network; The awards are presented by the Michigan Outdoor Writers Association for excellence in film and video production devoted to the outdoors.

Kelly Kruse '92 earned a Gold Award from the Industrial Design Society of America for an electronic diary she developed for Mattel. Kruse, who is earning her second degree in industrial design at California College of Arts & Crafts, says the diary allows kids to capture video, stills and sound clips and replay them on the color display of the camera.
