I didn't have space in the last issue to mention that John Toppings children (Elizabeth '02 and Alex '04) made the presentations at The King Awards Dinner on January 24. John also invited three '64s: Dale Eickelman and his wife, Christine; Konrad Von Moltke; and Bill Craig and his wife, Susan. "It was a delight to see all of them and I expect to be in touch with our North Country contingent on my future trips."

Steve Miron wrote that for over a year he has been helping to prepare for the BiAnimale Exhibition that opened at the Arsenale in Venice in early April. "The exhibition [is] but the beginning of a journey to alter the way we view the world and our place in it."

According to an article in Diagnostic Imaging, Larry Muroff, M.D., was awarded one of the 2001 Excellence in Diagnostic Imaging awards for his innovative work on continuing medical education in radiology. Larry is cited for having formed the Educational Symposia in 1975, which have helped thousands of radiologists learn how new technologies can strengthen their practices. After graduation Larry got his M.D. from Harvard, served his residency in radiology at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and moved to the University of South Florida in Tampa. He recently retired from heading the education company and is "considering the next step in his career" according to the article.

The American Weekly has profiled Lou Goodman, who, with his psychoanalyst wife Nancy (Mt. Holyoke '64) has lived in Washington since 1981. Lou has been dean of American University's School of International Service (SIS) since 1986. One of the members of SlS's adjunct faculty is John Fishel, professor of national security studies at the National Defense University's Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies.

On the retirement front, George "Jay" Evans will retire as head of the fixed income investment unit at Fleet Bank in Boston in December. He and Hasty are moving to their summer home on Cape Cod, where they keep a 35-foot sailboat for racing and cruising. One of their daughters, Posey '98, was married last summer at their home on the Cape. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer announced the retirement of Bill Neukom from Microsoft, after 22 years of representing the company. He has been legal chief since 85. "Known for his gentle manner, wavy white hair and ever-present bow tie, Neukom built from nothing a legal department now employing 200 attorneys." Bill is active in Seattle-area community groups and has his own charitable foundation focusing on poverty and other issues.

Larry Berg has written to explain the origin of his e-mail address, "squeeze." " [This] was my father-in-law's nickname for my wife. Her real name was Susan (Levitt) Berg. Sadly, she passed away January 13,2001, after a seven-year battle with cancer." Larry is practicing law with a small Southfield firm, representing several cities and a school district. He also does some real estate and estate planning work.
