The 35th reunion—"What New Do You Want To Do"—was well attended with at least 100 classmates and more than 60 family members participating. The class dinner at Dowd's Inn in Lyme was a great conclusion. Jeff and Pamm Zimmerman were presented a lamp in thanks for their lighting the way as our treasurers for 30 years.Reunionchair Bruce Pacht was given a handsome clock for giving us all such a great time. Congratulations to Bruce Pacht and all who ensured the reunions success.
Missing from the list of memorials of lost classmates, Eloise Murphy reminded me of the Mark Murphy Internship in Small Town Planning/Community Development at the University of Colorado at Denver. At college Mark played cello with the symphony orchestra and guitar with The Bunch. Marks poem Rest Yourself Easy" is included with his obit published in 1980.
We have lost another classmate, John KernMcPherson of Danville, California, who died while camping near Bishop, California. John came from Great Falls, Montana, majored in economics, sang with the Glee Club and Injunaires, was a member of Alpha Theta/Theta Chi, earned his M.B.A. from Tuck, served with Army in Vietnam, worked with and retired from Safeway Inc. He is survived by wife Charlene and children Heather, Toby and Kern. Our. sympathies to the McPherson family.
Phil Curtis in Atlanta, Georgia, has joined the executive search firm of Matteson Partners as the partner in charge of real estate, attorney and corporate searches. He is a past president of the Harvard Business School Club of Atlanta and Dartmouth Club of Georgia and is a member of Rotary Club of Buckhead and The Atlanta Forum. Phil earned Harvard law and business degrees.
Richard F. "Ted" LaRoche Jr. has joined the board of directors of Z-Tel Technologies. Ted served as general counsel and secretary of National Healthcare Corp. since 1971. He served as senior vice president in charge of finance and acquisitions from 1986 until his retirement in May 2002.Ted is aboard member of National Health Care Corp. Ted holds a law degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law.
