To all of you vacationing in a sunny clime, hooray for you! Couple of feet of snow here in New Jersey. Hanover reports much snow and below-zero readings. Shades of '42-'43, ifyou can remember. I found Milt Fromson in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, retired from real estate for eight years but still spending a few months in native Cleveland. Harry Colmery is still in San Marino, California, and he is still working hard at Capital Group Cos. Harry said he may retire in a couple of years. We'll see. He told me a great golf story about our own Bill Spoor. I found it a bit unbelievable, but I spoke to Bill and he didn't deny it. I'll tell you about it someday. Hint: it involves a hole-in-one. Bill's retired, travels a lot but no more tennis. Knee problems, probably from hitting some of those hurdles he mostly cleared so well. I talked to Col. Clark Judge. He too says he's abandoned the tennis courts. What is going on here? I can tell you I haven't—for the simple rea- son that I never played. Oh, forgot to tell you Spoor lives in Wayzata, Minnesota. Look him up when there. Can't be too many Spoors in good old Wayzata's phone book. I also spoke to Gene Bokor. He's still in New Jersey and lamenting, like all of us, some inability to try out for the Olympics. He's off to Florida shortly and I can tell you the ranks of '46ers are swelling in that state. Lu Leeger called me from California. Lu retired from the judiciary last year and is now working part-time as a judge. Lu had served many years with distinction on the bench. Finally, a word from head agent Tom Adams. Our Alumni Fund goal is $100,000. Money is coming in but we need some more. I know, sounds familiar. Please do what you can for 1946. Sadly I must report the deaths of these classmates: Charles D. Crockett July 17,2001; Walter C. Emmett, February 21,2002; John W. Handel, July 2,2001; James R. Huck, May 26,2002; George N. Jamison, November 26,2002; Clyde W. Meder, October 11, 2002; Shelton L. Pogue, March 5,2002; Robert N. Thayer, November 2,2002; and Willard H. Wyeth, August 8,2002. We extend our deepest sympathy to their families.
