Greetings! By the time this finds you, summer should be well underway, reunions will be completed and another Big Green class will be on its way "'round the girdled earth." I hope all is well with you and your families. Apparently, people must be busy, as news from classmates has stopped. Believe me, it is much more enjoyable to be working with material received from classmates than scrounging or manufacturing news.
My one piece of news from the College involves Christopher Neenan, who on March 17 joined the Boston Consulting Group in their New York office as vice president, director and global leader of their mergers and acquisitions practice. Prior to joining BCG, Chris had been managing director and chief operating officer of SG Capital Partners LLC, a $400 million private equity fund. Prior to joining SG Partners, Chris had been managing partner of the shareholdervalue strategies practice at Price Waterhouse LLP, and global practice leader of shareholder value consulting services at Braxton Associates (now Deloitte Consulting). Congratulations, Chris.
My only other '76 encounter was by proxy, and it was catching Gus Sauter briefly on a financial informational show while I was getting my oil changed. Gus is with the Vanguard Group, where he is "managing director of the quantitative equity group, overseeing the portfolio management of Vanguards index equity funds and quantitative equity strategies for several other actively managed portfolios." Gus is looking pretty young and fit, at least on screen.
If you enjoy the lack of news, keep up the slow flow. If not, please get motivated and drop me an e-mail from time to time. It's quick, cheap and painless. My next alternative is fiction, and y all don't want my mind to run down that alley. Please send news!
