Here we go again in May, with the weather providing an early spring and the urge to return to Hanover for class reunions and Commencement. An added incentive is the celebration of the founding of the Amos Tuck School some 75 years ago. A most interesting and informative program has been arranged by the College and Tuck School officials. As a preamble to these festivities, your treasurer, Vic Smith and your secretary attended class officers meetings held in Hanover on the weekend of April 30th. It was a pleasant and rewarding experience. Confidence was expressed by the President and Trustees of the College in the development of a more satisfactory plan of admission for future enrollment than appeared in earlier publications. We were told that you will be supplied with further details covering this discussion as well as some modifications which may be forthcoming at a meeting of the Trustees later in the year. At a joint conference of officers and wives, Charles Hood II spoke of the progress toward the ultimate goal of the Alumni Fund, 1976.
We are reminded of the good work of Class Agent Len Reade, who didn't make it to Hanover this year. As you may surmise, Len has no lead in his gas in his drive for a top position in our class agents group in which he was first, last year. There is still time for you to give your gift a boost, thus insuring a good class rating and contributing to the high quality of education at Dartmouth.
Harold "Friday" Bean writes from Norway, Me., in an interesting manner, telling us of his interest in country living, bridge playing, and service with fraternal organizations. Recently he has been oblidged to undergo surgery for cataracts. His experience thus far has been so rewarding that he is more than willing to provide encouragement to any classmates who may have reservations about embarking upon similar treatment.
Nancy Elliot announces the publication of the new Alumni Directory. It will include my address which I hope will be a reminder to you to write about your doings - active or otherwise. Keep In Touch.
