All the bits and pieces of our grand 65th reunion will follow in a future issue of The Pace Setter.
At the class meeting the election of officers was as expected.. .Francis, president, secretary, reunion chairman, editor of The Pace Setter pro tern; Kingsbury, treasurer; Tanis, head agent; and Reeve, bequest chairman. The only true discussion centered on The Pace Setter and it was decided to issue it on an "as needed basis"—possibly only once or twice a year, or discontinue it entirely.
To complete the list of reasons for not attending the 65th reunion are the following: On the day before, Ed Patteson experienced spells of vertigo; Fran Mooney suffered chest pains ending up in the emergency room; Bill Wynkoop is in a wheelchair and has dementia; Len Futner is a victim of AD and is in a nursing home; Bill McFarland is wife-sitting wife Karrie's physical problems; Grover and Doris Fox's physical problems preclude venturing from San Diego; Ed Kirch is in an intensive facility after successfully coming through a brain tumor operation; Warren Chivers is using a cane primarily because his sense of balance contributed to a couple of falls tearing a rotator cuff—doctors at Mary Hitchcock are talking about neuropathy. Sorry for all the somber news, but no one seems to tell of the good reasons for not coming!
As for our mini-reunion in 2004—I'm attempting to put something together. However, to be honest with you, there appear to be no accommodations available the month of October due to reunions to include the 70th, 65th and 50th classes—more information will follow!
