RSVP. Not a survey. Not a poll. No free sample. What's more, funds are available. You are cordially invited to submit your thoughts on improvements for Baker/Berry's nifty 1944 Place and its Fritz Hier Alcove. Ideas, please. After all, as A! Hormel has reminded us: "Its our room." Ideas, please. Send specific suggestions (be specific, don't just sound off) to class secretary David T. Nutt, 32 Fairway Blvd., Monroe Township, NJ 08831. Dave's fax is (732) 521-2224. If you are old enough to be a '44 and prefer old-timey communications, his telephone number is (732) 521-5193. If Grace answers, you're in luck. RSVP.

Phil Penberthy is one of class agent Ben Jones's illustrious lieutenants. In advance of moving to (sigh) long-term care digs, he recently sold his house. The real estate lady told him, "Now you're homeless."

Retired attorney Frank Martell still observes occasional office hours. One client keeping him busy is the estate of the late Dick Pleasants. Hip replacements being nothing new to our class, Frank has indulged himself in two, but merely one re-replacement. All of which deprives him of much-desired sailing time on Chesapeake Bay. A good chunk of Franks career as a trial lawyer was defending malpractice suits. For his own ailments, ironically, there's no one to sue. His and Carol's two sons live within hailing distance. Daughter Kate was a Dartmouth '76, but a granddaughter didn't make the admissions cut. Frank retains his undergraduates cheerful spirits.

Another cheery soul is Bud Talley. He and Priscilla lead an island life on Southport, Maine, in a family house that has been tended and improved by several generations. Bud's skills in woodworking, refinishing furniture, etc., have had plenty of room (and time) for expression and make him a handy guy to have around. Would you believe that at his age sometimes his knees hurt? Aspirin helps, but "keeping moving is the medicine that seems to work best," he says. Hallelujah. The Talleys leave Cape Newagen's winters behind in favor of Richmond, of which they have grown very fond and where two daughters live. Nope, Bud isn't a sailor. About his golf game, he is admirably forthright: "I'm good enough to enjoy it."
