Many of you are surely making plans to visit Hanover for our 15 th reunion in June. Here's a little news to keep you occupied until we see each other in person.

Maurits van der Veen is an assistant professor in international affairs at the University of Georgia. He's been running and racing a lot since our Dartmouth days, and last year included marathons in his efforts. His best result was a sixth-place finish at the Motorola Marathon in Austin last February, with a time of 2:18:12. Not too shabby, Maurits!

Michelle Mitchell Dauchy lives with her husband in Racine, Wisconsin, where she works at SC Johnson (maker of Pledge, Windex, Ziploc, Edge, Raid, Glade, etc.). She has two little girls, Erin and Megan, and says the challenges of balancing a full-time career and a family are well worth it.

Down the road in Milwaukee lives David Irwin, who sent me enough news for an entire column. He and his wife, Kim, relocated to Wisconsin from Atlanta in the fall of 2002. David works for FiServ, a financial technology company. He updates us on Mike Stutz, a radiation oncologist, and his wife, Kari. They have a son, Ryan, and a younger daughter, Audrey. In other news from David, Michael Hafner and his wife, Samantha Schnee '92, have two boys, Callum and Duncan. Michael works at Morgan Stanley in New York. Also in New York is Ted Young, who works at Harvest Partners, along with Chris Fuller.

Ted and Bonnie An Henderson live in Boston, where Ted works for Schooner Capital and Bonnie is an ophthalmologist. They have a son, Tiger, and twins, Skye and Sienna. John Tantum and his wife, Juli, live in San Francisco with their children, Lucy, Henry and Charlie. David also writes, "Perhaps other '89s have seen the intellectual output of Seattle's John Drescher (also our head class agent), currendy senior fellow at the Discovery Institute and a contributor to various scholarly publications."

Tito Basu has abandoned the academic life of a college professor for a job as a lawyer for the National Labor Relations Board.

Steve Matlin writes from Madrid, where he's lived for four years after leaving Boston, where he got his M.B.A. at Harvard. He met his wife on the Spanish LSA program in Granada way back in our undergrad days, and they have two boys, Patrick and Arturo. When he wrote last spring, Steve was working on his own as an independent investment bankei/strategy consultant to clients mosdy in the entertainment, hospitality and travel industries. He hopes to make it to reunion and wants to catch up with Brian Douville and Dan Ford. Steve also extends his services as a tour guide for any '89s visiting Madrid.

Rick Spalding writes from his home in Newburyport, Massachusetts, which he shares with his wife, Trish, their 2-year-old son Jack, and their puppy, Winnie. He's working as the director of natinal accounts marketing at Fishery Products, International, a leading global seafood supplier based out of Canada. Rick says: "I left the crazy and unstable world of consulting behind and took a job with a former client, which conveniently allowed my family to stay in the hub of the universe —Boston." Rick sends apologies to his friends in New York. Hey, how about the rest of us? More updates next month on Rick's friends in and beyond the Boston universe.

Finally, a bit of personal news. Zach Levine and I welcomed our second daughter, Leah Annette Levine, on November 14. Big sister Julia is thrilled about the baby, but not too happy with her parents. She'll get over it, right? Anyway, all four of us will see you in June.
