You'll be reading this about the time Commencement and reunions are in full flower. Alumni Glee Club, which got its start with the '48-'49-'50 reunion 10 years ago, is still going with the help of the Upper Valley Chorus. Tom Ruggles '50 and the late Ort Hicks Jr. '49 and George Barr '45 nurtured it through the years. It packs them into Spaulding Auditorium. Your correspondent has had the privilege of participating in all but one of those concerts and plans to be on stage this year.
Bud Gedney was kind enough to send a lengthy account of Bob Huke's memorial service in January. Attending were Bud and Ginny, Sam and Sally Wilkinson, Jim Schaefer, Dick and Lynn Greene, Lloyd and Joan Krumm, Pat McAllister, Ray and Gloria Richard, Jean McLaughlin, John Hatheway, Joe Smith and Bud Munsons daughter, Diana, who spoke at the ceremony. Members of the Upper Valley chorus closed the service with "Dartmouth Undying," a final request by a true son of Dartmouth.
Sonny Drury reports that fellow Houstonian Bob Douglas continues to fight cancer. With Don Smith from L.A., the three would have lunch when Don came to the cancer center for his checkup. Bob, unfortunately, couldn't make it this year. Pete Foster continues to labor for the legitimate restoration of the Indian symbol for the Big Green. He has gathered a considerable amount of backing from Native Americans associated with the College.
