The MALS Alumni Association held its annual luncheon and meeting on July 12 in the Hanover Inn. This year's speakers were professors Myrna and Harvey Frommer. Their presentation on the art of writing oral histories packed the house. They alternated reading voices from their work, and the effect on the audience was both entertaining and moving. Among the crowd of alumni attending the event were Cynthia Asher (MALS'03); Mike Beahan (MALS'97), the association council president; Ben Bolger (MALS'04), up from Boston for the day; Dona Bowers (MALS'02), who is now traveling and writing in Europe; Judy Chypre (MALS'99); Eric Esau (MALS'83); Melinda Evans (MALS'02), still working with the Dartmouth Dance Ensemble and planning its upcoming tour of Cuba; Maria Graham (MALS'06); Christine Hawkins (MALS '77); Grace Hill (MALS'75); Joan Kersey (MALS'96); Rosemary Lunardini (MALS'89); Maggie Montgomery (MALS'99), the coordinator of the luncheon; Dolapo Neill (MALS'04); Phyllis Nemhauser (MALS'03); Kathryn Niemela (MALS'97), who came up from the Washington area for the event; Margret Richard (MALS'85); Laura Rollison (MALS'05); Allen Sherman (MALS'04); Nancy Silliman '95 (MALS'96); John Tansey (MALS'9S); Joan White (MALS'00); and Nermina Zildzo (MALS'05). The MALS Alumni Association board is very proud of the success and response to the luncheons and would like to hear your suggestions for next years speaker.
