Our beloved Yank is gone. His son Fred wrote that attending Dartmouth was the most important event of his fathers life and generated the best relationships and feelings he experienced. His enthusiastic participation in class activities, including leadership positions, as well as his retirement to Hanover, manifests the warmth Yank exhibited toward Dartmouth. His house was filled with mementos. During his last years he met regularly at the Inn with other graduates. He left a Dartmouth legacy: Fred is class of '67 and Freds oldest son Joshua, and his wife are class of' 93. Josh is on the staff of Hopkins Center. Moving on, Doug Thompson, president of the class of '49, writes that he reads our Class Notes and was pleased to read about Bob Lowell because he lost track of him and thought we would like to know that Bob contributed more to a good lifestyle for literally thousands of people than anyone ever heard of. Further details from Helen Geloff.

Midge and Grant Herman still live in their big homey house in western Illinois. They just spend time enjoying each other while trying to keep up with 14 grandchildren.

John Magee discovered cooking was a great hobby. And he says he hates all the obits. John Gilbert says, yes, it was a great reunion and the pianist and singer was Fred Haas, Lowells son, and Sabrina. Lee (John) Howe writes that she and her three daughters were with her when he died December 27,1995. She still keeps in touch with Frieda Griffin, wife of Hobart. Wonderful New Years card from Monroe Hattenbach holding out the thought that the best years are ahead of us.
