Finally I am able to send along some notes from our fall meeting. Bob Baum's wife, Bridgette, will retire her Swedish passport as she has become a U.S. citizen.
Ray Bankert planned to spend the months of February and March on Hutchinson Island, Fla., and no doubt saw some Greens in Stuart. Al Wagner retired in September but is continuing some consulting activities. JimSullivan is trying to lower his handicap as he plays golf at least five times a week. Before attending the mini, Irl Marshall took a leaf cruise on the Viking, fromNew York to Boston to Nova Scotia to Quebec City and Montreal. It was one of the best fall color years, so Irl got lucky. Bert Proom continues consulting work and had just returned from a pleasure trip to San Francisco, Seattle, and Victoria, B.C. Dean Merrell has retired and now lives in Woodstock, Vt. Ray Rasenberger is working with a Washington law firm but beginning to reduce his duties.
Two others planned to be in Florida in the winter. Pete Brown, our Pick Axe Award winner, was headed for Bradenton, and BillYates expected to visit friends at Harbour Ridge in Stuart.
After next fall's Harvard game Jeff and EvieFarnum will again host a gathering in their waterfront tower apartment overlooking Boston Harbor.
Sadly, I must report the passing of several of our classmates (obits to follow): DanAnderson, Art Wallace, and Dick Banfield, who early on did so much for the class.
Got a nice note from Paul Bjorklund, who attended the win over Princeton. After the game he had a chance to talk with QuentKopp, who had come all the way from San Francisco for the game.
I attended the Dartmouth Club Christmas brunch at the Sara Bay Club in Sarasota with John and Joan Sweetland. John winters on Longboat Key and continues to maintain a home in Duxbury, Mass.
Punchy Thomas tried to use up all his frequent-flyer points in one trip! In February he and Doris traveled to New Zealand via Hawaii, Fiji, and several other spots.
Heard thatjudson Blakely was running for Vermont state representative on the Republican ticket, but seeing as how it was a Democratic year, and no Republican has ever won from his district, it didn't bode well for him. Judson has been active in Montpelier, where he has previously been a state committeeman, county committeeman, and member of the executive committee of the Vermont Republican Assembly. As this goes to press I haven't heard how he did.
Another plea: how about a note from someone?
