May/June 2006 Jack Kent,

Here are two more minibios of classmates taken from the 50th reunion book. Patti and Rene Blanc are either the smartest or the luckiest, maybe both, going.

After years of summering on Marthas Vineyard with their six children, they built a new house there in 1985 and enjoy the life on the island all year round so many of us would love. Prior to making this change Rene and Patti lived in Clearwater, Florida, working with his dad in Blanc Sales Cos., primarily engaged in importing, warehousing and distributing Portland cement to the booming building trade there at that time. The year 1963 found the couple and their first four children in Simsbury, Connecticut, where there were other young Dartmouth families. By the time they moved onto Norwell, Massachusetts, which involved a job change, there were two more children giving them an even three and three. As much as they love the Vineyard, they enjoy travel in Europe and visiting grandchildren, nine in number at the time of our 50th reunion. We hope to see them in Hanover for one of the class minis.

Although several of us started our married lives in Wigwam or Sachem, I daresay not many, if any, actually made their marriage vows at the White Church in Hanover. One couple that did is Jeanne and Tom Sours, both from Columbus, Ohio. And Columbus is where they settled when Tom entered a family partnership Baldwin and Sours, which distributed a wide variety of highway equipment. With son Steve joining the firm in 1982, the company incorporated and restructured its product line to distribution of traffic signal control equipment and highway safety hardware. All three children and five grandchildren live near Tom and Jeanne, which may explain why we haven't seen them in Hanover for much too long. They love being grandparents!

That's all, folks. Enjoy the early spring.
